Meet Erica and Greg. This absolutely adorable couple will be tying the knot at the infamous Ojai Valley Inn and Spa early next year and All You Need is Love is honored to be a part of their big day! We asked them to tell us their story in their own words, so without further adieu…we introduce you to Erica and Greg!
1. How did you meet?

We met at a mutual friend’s Christmas party in San Francisco, where we live. We were both the only person at the party that the other one didn’t know. Our first conversation didn’t last very long–I started talking about college football, which is not his thing. However, later on that night we started chatting again when he noticed that I had two cell phones, one of my own in addition to a smartphone I was testing through my job as a tech reporter. Greg says was instantly intrigued by my ability to talk technology with him and he asked me out that night. We went out on an epic 19-hour date the next day, and eight months later we were engaged!

2. How did you two get engaged?

Greg told me he had a surprise for me and took me on a ferry ride to Angel Island, the other island in San Francisco Bay near Alcatraz. The ferry made one stop at another pier before going over to the island, and all of a sudden my parents (who were coincidentally visiting for the week) boarded and appeared on the upper deck of the boat where we were standing and taking photos. That caught me totally off guard, and I loved it. Greg had planned it secretly with them a few days before, and while I was amazed by their ability to pull off the surprise,  I still didn’t have a clue anything bigger was in store.

Once we were on the island we decided on a long hike up the tallest hill on the island. Near the top my parents made up a reason to hang back (my dad claimed he dropped the case for his Blackberry), and once alone at the top Greg asked if I wanted to have a picnic. Since I LOVE picnics, of course I was delighted when he pulled champagne and some of my favorite snacks out of his backpack. As he was setting up the picnic blanket and food, he asked me to find the cups in his backpack so he could pour me a glass of champagne. When I reached for one, hidden inside was a jewelry box with a gorgeous ring! After a while, my parents joined us and we toasted and celebrated. It was a fantastically perfect day.

3. Where are your planning on getting married and why?

We’re getting married in my exceedingly charming hometown of Ojai, California, at the Ojai Valley Inn and Spa. Besides frequenting the place growing up, I’d also been to a wedding there previously and it was absolutely the most gorgeous and fun affair I’d ever had the pleasure of attending. We picked it because all of our friends and most of Greg’s family are scattered elsewhere around California and the rest of the country and we thought it would be a perfect weekend destination wedding location for all of our guests.
4. Why did you decide to use All You Need Is Love Events as your planners?

Because Tiffany at the Inn gave you a glowing review! And because after we chatted I could see you’re both easy to work with, fun, and very excited about what you do.
