We are so excited to feature one of our lovely couples today – Brooke and Michael. They will be getting married this summer at the Adamson House in Malibu – one of our faves! Brooke and Michael were referred to us by another one of our brides and we’re so glad they picked us! They are a joy to work with and are going to have an absolutely stunning, romantic, and wonderful wedding day. {Gorgeous photography by Laurie Bailey}

How did you two meet?
We met in college in a class study group where we were introduced by mutual friends. While I was dating someone else at the time, Mike patiently waited six months until I was single again, which worked out nicely because we were able to get to know each other on a friend basis. From the day we started dating until the day he proposed which was about 4 years, we never needed to have the “future” talk because we just knew that it was right!
How did you two get engaged?
Mike planned a surprise away weekend for my birthday, so I had no idea where we were going and had no clue that he was going to propose. He ended up taking me to Ojai, one of my favorite vacation towns, and took me on a hike where he proposed when we stopped for lunch. Instead of pulling out the PB&J sandwiches, he pulled out my great-grandmother’s engagement ring, which he had remembered me saying that I loved at one point. He earned major brownie points for that one! Still not knowing what the rest of the weekend entailed, he surprised me with a fabulous overnight at the Ojai Valley Inn, one of my favorite resorts, where we celebrated our engagement bliss.

Where are you two planning on getting married and why that location?
We love the outdoors and especially the beach so we knew we wanted an outdoor wedding. After searching for months all over Santa Barbara and the wine country, we had yet to find the perfect spot. I overheard a woman in a bridal dress shop talking about how much she loved her wedding at the Adamson House and decided to look it up. Having grown up in LA, I had never heard of this spot, probably because the old estate is hidden by a wall if you are driving to Malibu on the PCH. Once we stepped foot on the gorgeous grounds, we knew it was the perfect place for us with the beautiful Spanish style architecture and amazing views of the ocean and coastline. Mike loves the fact that he’ll be able to watch the surfers on the day of the wedding!
Why did you decide to use All You Need Is Love Events as your planners?
I was talking to a friend who had just signed up Shannon and Vikki for her wedding and she raved about them and recommended that I interview them. After interviewing a few different people, we felt the most excited about Shannon and Vikki because they were not only professional and experienced, but so nice and fun!
